S.B. Messines at 5 mins drive from the villa - a tradional market town with all amenities including supermarkets, local produce market, pharmacies, banks, cafe's, restaurants etc.

The villas location is ideal for all ages and all types of holiday activities. To make the most of your location, a car is necessary although there are taxi services in Messines and Silves should you want to dine out and have a drink without the worry of driving home. We don't recommend any car hire company in particular as there are many to choose from.

There are many rural walks close by with beautiful scenery - within a 10 - 15 minutes drive are the lakes Barragem do Funcho and Barragem do Arade. 

Silves is only a 20 mins drive from the villa - old historic capital of Algarve, more touristic with Castle, cobbled streets, Archeological museum, Gothic Cathedral and all amenities - larger supermarkets, more choice of restaurants. In August there is the annual, 2 week long Medeival Festival which is definitely a great experience for all ages.

Restaurants - There are many family run Portuguese restaurants within 20 minutes drive of the villa offering a wide variety of menus and prices. The coastal towns offer a more diverse range of restaurants

Coast/beaches - The coast is 20km away, taking around a half hour drive.

Golf - Over 35 courses within one hours drive. Map and info of courses

Water slide parks and Zoomarine aquatic park with dolphins - around half hour drive

Algarve Shopping - shopping mall with designer and well known shops, food court, opticians, pharmacy, food court, cinema - located at Guia, about a half hour drive from villa.
